After updating your existing SAS installation to SAS 9.4M7, you might see the following errors when you use a SAS/ACCESS^® Interface to Oracle database on a UNIX or Linux system:

Another option is to complete the following steps to reinstall SAS/ACCESS Interface to Oracle to fix the problem.

1. After the update to SAS 9.4M7 is complete, delete the symbolic link: SASHOME/SASFoundation/9.4/sasexe/tkeora.so.
2. Reinstall SAS^® Foundation: SAS/ACCESS Interface to Oracle product.
   1. If this is a planned deployment, follow the instructions provided at SAS^® 9.4 Administration: Add SAS Products That Do Not Require Configuration.
   2. If this is not a planned deployment, then follow the instructions below:
      1. Run the SAS^® Deployment Wizard from the order used to perform the upgrade.
      2. Select Install SAS Software.
      3. In the Select Products to Install dialog box, select only SAS Foundation.
      4. In the Select SAS Foundation Products dialog box, select only SAS/ACESS Interface to Oracle.

This procedure checks and reinstalls SAS/ACCESS Interface to Oracle and its dependencies. When the installation process is complete, the binary SASHOME/SASFoundation/9.4/sasexe/tkeora.so file is installed instead of a symbolic link.

Note: If you have not performed the update to SAS 9.4M7, you can avoid the problem by deleting the SASHOME/SASFoundation/9.4/sasexe/tkeora.so file before performing the update.
