Problem Note 66695: Running PROC DS2 code could fail when an Oracle column in the table contains the CLOB data type

When you run PROC DS2 code with the FEDSVR Engine or the Oracle Engine, the code might fail. This problem occurs when an Oracle table column contains the CLOB data type. When you encounter this issue, an error similar to one of the following might occur:

  • ERROR: Value for row length cannot be handled by DS2.
  • ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
