In SAS Visual Analytics, you can assign data items to the hidden role for control objects. This ability can allow you to sort a List Control by an item that is not visible in the control.

If you access the report via a direct URL, then two problems occur:

• In both view mode and edit mode, the hidden data item does not appear as an option to sort.
• In edit mode, the hidden role does not appear on the Roles tab.

If you access the report by opening SAS Visual Analytics first and then opening the report, these issues do not occur. This issue happens only when you access the report via a direct URL.
