Problem Note 66396: Hashing functions, such as HASHING_HMAC, use more memory, CPU resources, and elapsed time than expected while processing greater numbers of rows

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Hashing functions do not perform as expected when the numbers of rows that are processed are increased. As the numbers of rows increase, there is an exponential decrease in performance.

For example, processing 8,000 rows might take 1 second and use 3 MB of memory. You could then reasonably expect that 64,000 rows would take eight times as long to process (8 seconds) and use a similar amount of memory. However, the 64,000 rows might take 108 seconds and use 64 MB of memory.

Note: Different operating systems will perform differently. The values that are discussed above are examples only.
