When you load a network diagram with multiple nodes and then click the Ctrl button on the background, the application might remain fixed in pan mode. This behavior leaves you unable to select additional nodes.

To work around this issue, perform a lasso selection. Once you do this (by clicking the background and dragging the cursor to select nodes), you should be able to continue working with the nodes in the network diagram.
