Problem Note 66558: The SAS® Data Management Data Server configuration fails during a migration
During a migration, the SAS Data Management Data Server configuration fails when any of the database accounts or passwords in the target environment fare different from those in the source environment. When this problem occurs, an error similar to the following is displayed in the configuration log:
FATAL: password authentication failed for user user-ID
The SAS Data Management Data Server contains the databases for SAS® Business Data Network, Reference Data Network, and SAS® Federation Server Manager. The default database accounts for these products are listed below.
- dmbdnadmin
- dmbdndb_admin
- dmowner
- dmrdmadmin
- dmrdmdb_admin
- dmrdmuser
- fsmgradmin
- fsmgrdb_admin
To work around this issue, you need to ensure that all of these accounts and their associated passwords must stay the same across the migration in both the source and target environments.
