Usage Note 66472: New SAS® Viya® 3.4 and 3.5 features are available in CAS access controls
New features in SAS Viya 3.4 and 3.5 add access control list (ACL) functionality for SAS® Cloud Analytic Services.
A best practice is to associate access controls with source files, not in-memory table names. This hot fix accommodates specialized workflows that do not follow this best practice.
By design, usage of access controls that are associated with only an in-memory table name is extremely limited. This hot fix slightly expands usage of such name-based controls to include two additional cases:
- evaluation of requests in which the connected source file has no direct access controls
- evaluation of requests to load a table, in certain circumstances
For more information, see SAS® Viya® Administration: CAS Authorization ► Concepts ► Application and Persistence.
