Problem Note 66404: The scenario context grid freezes or fails when the number of records is too big
Scenario-fired events are often related to thousands of documents. When the Alerts service in SAS® Visual Investigator attempts to build the context grid, the Home page might freeze without a spinner to convey that the request is being processed, or the request might fail.
While building the context grid, a call for the relevant records is sent to the Datahub service. The call might fail when there is a large number of records because the record IDs are passed as parameters in the URL, not in the body of the request. The length of the URL then becomes too long.
As a workaround, you can limit the number of related documents that are included in the context grid by setting the following configuration on the Properties page:
- In SAS Visual Investigator, select Properties ► Desktop.
- Double-click Alerts.
- In the Alerts Configuration pop-up window, add the preferred number of maximum records to retrieve. An example is shown here:
