Problem Note 66275: Emails sent from SAS® Visual Investigator in a workflow task fail with "Mail Failure Failed messages: javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Address"

Emails sent from SAS Visual Investigator in a workflow task fail if the users' email addresses are not in the format <user_id>@<Mail service host>. If you encounter this issue, you receive an error in your mail service logs that is similar to the following:

2020-02-17 13:15:03.474 ERROR 18799 --- [0-auto-1-exec-6] com.sas.mail.MailController              : sas.svi-datahub@@rsa [7d4814273f4bd03c] [controller.mail.failure.fmt.log] Mail Failure, Failed messages: javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses;
  nested exception is:
        com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPAddressFailedException: 550 5.1.1 <user_id@Mail service host>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table
