Problem Note 66160: A malformed request URL to an Esri server in SAS® Visual Analytics prevents map images from loading in the geomap report object
When you use a local Esri server as your mapping provider in SAS Visual Analytics, you might encounter an issue if the Esri server shares the same origin as your SAS® Viya® web applications. This problem can happen when your Esri server is behind the same reverse proxy or load balancer as your SAS Viya environment.
When this issue occurs, the background map image for your geomap report object in SAS Visual Analytics does not load if you attempt to use your local Esri server as the mapping provider. This issue occurs because SAS Visual Analytics incorrectly forms the request URL to the Esri server when it shares the same origin as the SAS Viya web applications. This behavior results in an HTTP 404 error for a request to a URL like the one shown below:
http://host-name/SASVisualAnalytics/resources/shcb1587746288747/http://host-name/arcgis/rest/services/SampleWorldCities/MapServer/export?f=image&bbox=-240.483379495555,-43.6333618164062,220.92617429536,71.3885040283203&size=1396,348
This malformed request URL and the resulting HTTP 404 error prevent the map images from loading in your geomap report object.
