Problem Note 65826: The SAS® Viya® apply_license utility does not produce an error if the license file cannot be read

When you try to renew a SAS Viya license, the new license is not applied in the programming environment under these conditions:

  • You use the apply-license.yml playbook or manually execute the apply_license utility.
  • The SAS user does not have Read access to the new license file. 

The apply_license utility produces no errors in this scenario. You must manually review the /opt/sas/spre/home/SASFoundation/install/log/apply_license.log file on the programming nodes after updating the license to ensure that the license was updated successfully.
