Problem Note 65635: Unable to connect to SAS® Studio Basic if IPv6 is not available on the server in SAS® Viya® 3.5
When IPv6 is disabled in a SAS Viya 3.5 deployment, you might see an error similar to the following in the object spawner log:
ERROR [00000015] :xx11111 - A port could not be obtained to allow the client to be connected to this server.
This issue causes the object spawner to be unable to create a listen port for the workspace server. The workspace server port, which allows for re-connections, is opened only for IPv6 access. This particular port is used only when no metadata-based configuration is supplied.
The root cause of this issue is that the socket is initialized using IPv6 when it should be initialized for either IPv6 or IPv4. The hot fix updates the address family value of the socket initialization.
