When you execute a query in SAS Studio, formats might not be applied for aggregated measures. For example, suppose that you select New ► Query to open a new query tab in the work area. You add a data set named SASHELP.PRDSALE. You drag the ACTUAL column to the columns tab twice. You now have both ACTUAL and ACTUAL1 on the Columns tab. The DOLLAR format is applied to both columns.You change the Aggregate option from NONE to SUM for the ACTUAL column, and you change the Column Name to ACTUAL_AGG_SUM. This is shown in the following display:
You then execute the query. When you check the output data, you see that ACTUAL1 correctly has the DOLLAR format applied. However, the DOLLAR format is not applied to ACTUAL_AGG_SUM, as shown in the following display:
As a workaround, you can apply the format to the output table by choosing Column Properties, or you might create a calculated column and apply the format.
