Problem Note 65603: "Error reading/writing item store..." appears in the CAS logs during start-up and formats are unavailable in SAS® Cloud Analytic Services (CAS)

The following error appears in the CAS log during start-up:

ERROR [00000007] 141926 cas 0 [tkpermitm.c:2579] - Error reading/writing item store. Return code: FFFFFFFA.

The error occurs because formats failed to load and will be unavailable to CAS sessions.

A workaround is to load the formats manually.
