Problem Note 65602: Importing data from Twitter or Facebook to SAS® Cloud Analytic Services on SAS® Viya® fails with an error

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Importing data from Twitter or Facebook to SAS Cloud Analytic Services (CAS) fails. This issue impacts all releases of SAS® Visual Analytics, SAS® Event Stream Processing, and SAS® Data Explorer including the embedded Data Explorer in SAS® Environment Manager, SAS® Model Manager, and other SAS Viya applications. These errors occur because the social media connectors are no longer supported.

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note for a link to instructions about accessing and applying the software update.

The hot fix for SAS® Viya® 3.5 removes the Facebook and Twitter import functionality from the user interface. Users who wish to import Twitter or Facebook data are encouraged to use third-party tools to extract the data into CSV format and then import the CSV file.

Note: SAS Visual Analytics on SAS® 9.4 continues to show the social media connectors in the Import Data dialog box even though they are no longer supported.
