Problem Note 65210: Microsoft disabled the Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) engine for SAS® in Microsoft Word
In order to read or write to a Microsoft Word document when you use the SAS DDE engine, you must create or modify a new Windows registry key. In a December 2017 update for Word, Microsoft disabled the DDE feature in Word.
For more information about the changes that Microsoft made or about how to create or update the Windows registry key, see Microsoft Security Advisory 4053440.
SAS is not responsible for this issue because the use of the SAS DDE engine is dependent on Microsoft, and Microsoft has changed or disabled DDE in Word by default.
