Clearing the browser cache is an essential, required action for all users following any major or minor release upgrade for the SAS^® Life Science Analytics Framework environment.

If you do not completely clear the browser cache, unexpected behavior can be experienced or reported in multiple areas of the UI due to older files in the cache being combined with files from the new release of the software. 

As an example, when using Google Chrome, SAS recommends taking the following steps to properly and fully clear the browser cache:

• Be certain to select the All time selection for Time range in the Clear browsing data dialog box.
• Ensure that you select the Cached images and files option in the Clear browsing data dialog box.
• It is *not* necessary to clear Browsing history or Cookies and other site data; this information can remain cached.
• After you click Clear data, check the cache location at C:\Users\user-id\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache to ensure that the cache is actually cleared.
• Another method for clearing the browser cache is available via Chrome Developer Tools. Specifically, click the icon that is three vertical dots (its tooltip displays the text Customize and control Google Chrome) in the upper far right of the browser. Then select More tools ► Developer tools. Move the mouse to right-click the refresh/reload icon in the top left of the browser (located on the address bar) and select Empty Cache and Hard Reload.
• If the cache is verified to be empty and the unexpected behavior persists, as a final action you might have to un-install and then re-install the (Chrome) browser.
