Problem Note 65746: A metadata connection leak occurs when you save a SAS® Enterprise Guide® project on SAS® Content Server
You might encounter several metadata connections being left open from the middle tier and the metadata server. The issue began in SAS® 9.4M3 (TS1M3). This issue is caused by SAS® Web Infrastructure Platform services not closing the metadata connection. The connections originate from SASServer1_1 where the SAS Content Server and WIP Services are deployed to the metadata server. In this scenario, there are far more connections than users who are connected. These metadata connections are never cleaned up or closed.
Currently, the only workaround is to restart the SAS® Web Application Server.
