In SAS^® Visual Investigator, on pages with drop-down selections, a required selection does not have a blank selection, and the drop-down field is noted with a red asterisk to indicate that a selection is required. When a selection is not required, there is no red asterisk next to the drop-down field, and you can select a blank, indicating that nothing is selected.

Therefore, you might notice that a drop-down selection is incorrectly indicated as required, or a drop-down selection is incorrectly indicated as optional.
