Problem Note 65340: You receive "Syntax error, statement will be ignored..." when you run a procedure that supports in-database processing
When you use procedures that support in-database processing, you receive an error similar to the following:
1 option sqlgeneration=DBMS;
2 proc summary data=test."/special/chars"n;
3 var age;
4 output out=sumout sum=age;
5 run;
ERROR 22-322: Syntax error, expecting one of the following: a name, a quoted string, a numeric constant, a datetime constant, a missing value, ), BTRIM, INPUT, PUT, SUBSTRING, USER.
ERROR 22-322: Expecting a name.
ERROR 76-322: Syntax error, statement will be ignored.
ERROR: Error during in-database processing.
NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors.

- PROC SUMMARY
- PROC TABULATE
- PROC MEANS
- PROC RANK
- PROC FREQ
- PROC SORT
- PROC REPORT
You encounter this issue when the table name contains special characters, such as '/', '%', '\', and so on.
You can work around this problem by renaming the table so that it contains only alphanumeric characters.
