Problem Note 65214: The error "The font 'font-name' contains a bad /BBox" appears in Adobe Acrobat Reader while opening a secured PDF created with the ODS PDF statement
A PDF file that is created by the Output Delivery System (ODS) PDF destination is opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader, and the following pop-up error message appears:
The font 'font-name' contains a bad /BBox.
This issue occurs when both of these circumstances occur:
- You use the option PDFSECURITY=HIGH or the option PDFSECURITY=LOW. Note: PDFSECURITY=LOW is a deprecated option.
- You specify a Type 1 font, such as Helvetica, with the specification FONTWEIGHT=LIGHT.
The SAS® log shows no errors or warnings.
A workaround is either to use FONTWEIGHT=MEDIUM for the problematic font or to use the option PDFSECURITY=NONE.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
