Problem Note 64913: The fractional part of a numeric value is not returned from a SAS® Real-Time Decision Manager data process (from an Oracle view)
In SAS Real-Time Decision Manager, the fractional (decimal) part of a numeric value is not returned from a data process when data is read with arithmetic operations from an Oracle view. As a result, the decimal values are truncated, and only the integer is returned to the data process. This issue does not produce an error in SAS® Customer Intelligence Studio or in any log.
This issue is introduced by installation of either of the following hot fixes:
- Hot Fix V46008 (applied to SAS® Decision Services 6.4)
- Hot Fix Z24003 (applied to SAS® Decision Services 6.4_M1)
To work around this issue, place the arithmetic operations within a explicit cast, as shown in the following example. In the example, an existing view is replaced by a new view. Two decimal values (DEC1 and DEC2) are added, and they maintain their fractional parts in the data process because the sum is explicitly cast to NUMBER(8, 5).
create or replace view test_view as select cast(DEC1+DEC2 as number(8,5)) as DEC_NEW from test_table;
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
