Problem Note 64878: An efile that is transmitted by Secured Data Transfer Method (SDTM) to the FinCEN is rejected
An efile might be sent in batch via SDTM by using the driver program rc_efile_fincen_sdtm.sas.
During this process, the efile can be incomplete, and the file is rejected by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). This issue is more likely to happen when multiple reports are included in one efile.
The cause of this issue is that the driver program uses the FCOPY function, which defaults to a buffer size of 32,767 bytes. As a result, the efile is truncated at 32,767 bytes.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
After you apply the hot fix in this note, the limit for truncation is lifted, and you can create an efile that is up to 60 MB in size.
