Problem Note 64637: SAS® Visual Analytics Viewer fails to render reports and unexpectedly displays "A SAS licensing problem has been detected"
SAS Visual Analytics Viewer might fail to render reports, and the warning icon in each of the report objects might show the following error:
A SAS licensing problem has been detected. Contact Your SAS Administrator for assistance.
This problem can occur if your site licenses only SAS® Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting, which is true if you have licensed one of the SAS® solutions but you have not explicitly licensed SAS Visual Analytics and SAS® Visual Statistics.
To resolve this issue:
- Log on to SAS® Visual Analytics Designer.
- Create a new report and save it.
- Log off from SAS Visual Analytics Designer.
- Close the browser.
- Clear the browser cache.
- Log on to SAS Visual Analytics Viewer. The report should render and the licensing message should be gone.

If your site licenses only SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting, you might see a licensing error when you attempt to view reports in SAS Visual Analytics Viewer.
