When you execute a data process of type Update, that process fails on execution in SAS Real-Time Decision Manager. When that failure occurs, the following error is generated in SAS^® Customer Intelligence Studio: 

The problem occurs when you add Update variables as required input to the data process.

When this problem happens, the logs show an RTDM exception with an error message from the database. This is an indication that the syntax is incorrect.

To work around this problem, set the Required column to No for Update variable in the definition for the data process, as shown below:
