Problem Note 64430: The IMPORT procedure fails in SAS when you use the GUESSINGROWS=MAX option or a high value for the argument in the GUESSINGROWS= statement
In SAS® 9.4M6 (TS1M6), PROC IMPORT causes SAS to stop working in either of the following scenarios:
- You use a high value for the argument with the GUESSINGROWS= statement.
- The GUESSINGROWS=MAX option is used to read a comma-delimited file or a tab-delimited file.
A workaround is to not use either the MAX argument or a high value for the argument in the GUESSINGROWS= statement.
Another workaround is to use a DATA step with INFILE and INPUT statements to read a delimited file.
