Problem Note 64407: The SAS® Environment Manager server fails to start after you apply Hot Fix B7R005

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

The SAS Environment Manager server can fail to start after you apply Hot Fix B7R005. In the bootstrap.log file, you might see an error similar to the following:

Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: java.util.zip.ZipException: zip file is empty
    at org.apache.catalina.webresources.AbstractSingleArchiveResourceSet.initInternal(AbstractSingleArchiveResourceSet.java:142)
    at org.apache.catalina.util.LifecycleBase.init(LifecycleBase.java:107)
    ... more lines ...

This issue might also introduce a configuration error for SAS Environment Manager during the Load Content, Update Content, or Post Update tasks. In the configuration error log, you might see a warning or error like one of the following:

[hypericserverTarget] 2019-05-14 08:39:33,458 [main] WARN  com.sas.appserver.vfabrchyperc.HypericServer - Failed to query user list in EVManager database: . . .

2019-06-25 19:59:09,724 [main] ERROR com.sas.appserver.vfabrchyperc.HypericServer - Failed To create ev initial User and Role: . . .

This problem is caused by a 0 KB JAR file called commons-fileupload-1.3.1.jar. Go to SAS-configuration-directory\Web\SASEnvironmentManager\server-5.8.0-EE\hq-engine\hq-server\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\lib and verify that the commons-fileupload-1.3.1.jar is 0 KB.

If the file is 0 KB, the workaround is to delete the commons-fileupload-1.3.1.jar file. Then restart the SAS Environment Manager server.

If you receive a configuration error during the Load Content, Update Content, or Post Update tasks, and you restarted the SAS Environment Manager server and the server completely restarted, select Retry in SAS® Deployment Wizard or SAS® Deployment Manager.
