You might receive the following error when you update counts in a Cell node that is in a SAS^® Marketing Automation selection campaign:

 The error occurs under the following circumstances: 

1. You create a selection campaign with a Select node that is connected to a Cell node.
2. In the Select node, you choose a data item and set the value in the criteria for that data item to be another data item (rather than specific values).
3. You update counts in the Cell node. When you do this, the error that is shown earlier is displayed.

When you update counts in a Cell node when the upstream Select node's criteria value is a data item, the following error occurs: "...In MAIQService:executeCount:Index: 0, Size: 0. . .Error executing query. The Surname node, or another node upstream from it, has failed to execute successfully."
