Problem Note 64204: You receive the pop-up message "Exception: Insufficient authorization to access..." when you try to save your program in SASĀ® Studio
When you try to save a program to a location that you are not authorized to write to in SAS Studio, the following occurs:
- SAS Studio closes the session without offering you an option to save your program to a valid location.
- You lose your program.
In this scenario, a pop-up message opens that reads similar to the following:
Exception: Insufficient authorization to access file-name.
To work around this issue, click Save As when you are saving a program in SAS Studio.

If you try to save a program to an unauthorized location in SAS Studio, you are unable to save. Instead, you see a pop-up message that reads, "Exception: Insufficient authorization to access...".
