Problem Note 64127: Using a promoted format can cause orphaned processes to remain after the CAS server is stopped
In SAS® Cloud Analytic Services (CAS), a format can be promoted to a global scope, which allows all permitted sessions to use it. The use of a promoted format can cause orphaned processes to remain after the CAS server is stopped. These orphaned processes consume operating resources and could possibly interfere with starting another instance of the CAS server.
A workaround is to use the process kill command. However, operating system resources could remain consumed until the operating system instance is restarted (that is, the machine is rebooted).
