Problem Note 64750: SASServer 8 start-up takes a long time to start in SAS® Infrastructure for Risk Management 3.6
In SAS Infrastructure for Risk Management 3.6, SASServer8 might take a long time to start when thousands of instances exist on the system. Start-up can take up to several hours. This problem occurs because of an SQL query that is working in the background to clean up unused DATA_PATH table entries.
To work around this issue, disable the clean up of the DATA_PATH table entries that takes place upon start-up of SASServer8. To disable the clean up, set the following system property to true in SAS® Management Console:
com.sas.solutions.risk.irm.server.dop.cleanupdatapathonserverstartdisabled
Disabling the table clean-up during server start-up should not cause any side effects.
After you change this property in SAS Management Console, you must restart SASServer8.
