Problem Note 64603: Running a pipeline gives "No usable observations exist in the data set ... The action stopped due to errors ..." error messages
In SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning, errors might be displayed when you run a pipeline.
ERROR: No usable observations exist in the data set.
ERROR: The action stopped due to errors.
The problem occurs when these conditions are true.
- You are using a pipeline that was created from SAS® Visual Analytics before upgrading to SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning 8.4.
- The pipeline uses a derived target-variable.
- The pipeline contains a modeling node that generates an ASTORE file.
To work around the problem after upgrading, follow these steps.
- Re-create the tasks in SAS Visual Analytics.
- Run the pipeline in SAS Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning.
