Problem Note 64242: The Elasticsearch service runs out of memory in SASĀ® Visual Investigator 10.5.1
While searching for data, the Elasticsearch service might run out of memory. In the log, you see out-of-memory exceptions.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note for a link to instructions about accessing and applying the software update.
After you apply this fix, the start-up Java Virtual Machine (JVM) option -XX:+DisableExplicitGC is removed. By default, this option is located in the jvm.options file at /opt/sas/viya/config/etc/elasticsearch/default/.
As a workaround, you can also delete this option from the file. If you do so, then restart the Elasticsearch service.
