Read access violations in SASXKERN can occur when you use the following:

• SAS/ACCESS Interface to ODBC with DataDirect version 8.0
• Active Directory
• TLS 1.2
• A setting of 13 for the authentication method in the ODBC data source. 

The problem is caused by an issue with the DataDirect driver. 

To circumvent the problem, test the driver outside of SAS as the ODBC data source administrator. If the connection disappears when you test the connection, contact DataDirect for a fix to the ODBC driver.

Read Access violations can occur when you connect via ODBC to SQL Server with DataDirect SQL driver 8.0 and use Active Directory. DataDirect is providing a fix for the issue.
