Problem Note 63891: Copying a large SAS® Scalable Performance Data Server 5.1 table with indexes using PROC COPY can corrupt the table
Copying a large table with indexes from SAS Scalable Performance Data Server 5.1 using the COPY procedure can corrupt the table. There is no indication of the problem at the time that the copying occurs.
Attempts to access the table after you copy it can generate this error in the SAS log:
ERROR: Unable to open due to incompatible data file version number.
This problem is related to the number of data partition files (DPFs) that are created for the table. When there are approximately 200 DPF files, the error can be triggered. However, this number can vary.
A workaround is to increase the MINPARTSIZE parameter file option in the spdsserv.parm file to write larger but fewer DPFs to disk.
This issue affects only SAS Scalable Performance Data Server 5.1.
