Problem Note 63411: Grid-launched servers in SAS® Grid Manager fail when a client machine is configured for a different domain
You can use a SAS® software client for server-side load balancing through grid-launched workspace servers. However, when the client machine is not configured for the same domain as the server machine, the grid-launched servers fail.
In this situation, one of these errors can appear in SAS® Enterprise Guide®:
An unexpected error has occurred
A connection could not be made to the requested resource
Could not establish a connection to the server on the requested machine. Verify that the server has been started and that the host and port of the server match the client's connection information.
An error that is similar to the following appears in SAS® Management Console when you validate the workspace server:
SEVERE: The application could not log on to the server "xxxxxx:8811". The machine name is not valid
The error that appears for you will depend on the SAS software client that you use.
