You might encounter errors when you run code that references a database management system (DBMS) table if you performed any of the following actions between January 2, 2019 and January 30, 2019:

• Downloaded SAS^® 9.4M5 (TS1M5) software and applied the automatically downloaded hot fixes
• Used the SAS Hot Fix Analysis, Download and Deployment Tool (SASHFADD 2.2.1) to download and apply available hot fixes
• Applied the Base SAS^® Hot Fix B6Q038 and the other dependent Base SAS hot fixes without applying hot fixes for each SAS/ACCESS^® product licensed to your SAS 9.4M5 system
• Applied a hot fix for at least one of the SAS/ACCESS products licensed to your SAS 9.4M5 system without also applying the Base SAS Hot Fix B6Q038 and the other dependent Base SAS hot fixes

Here are some of the errors that have been encountered due to this issue:

If you try to create a DBMS table, you might receive a database syntax error.

These errors occur because some hot fixes were not included in the software download during this time period.

Workarounds

If you downloaded and installed an order or applied a hot fix between January 2, 2019 and January 30, 2019, use the workaround below that applies to you:

• If you downloaded and installed an order and applied hot fixes but have not encountered these errors, use the SAS Hot Fix Analysis, Download and Deployment Tool (SASHFADD 2.2.1) as documented in the "Applying Hot Fixes after the Installation" section of the SAS^® Deployment Wizard and SAS^® Deployment Manager 9.4: User’s Guide.
   
• If you downloaded the order but have not installed it yet, follow the steps documented in the "Applying Hot Fixes with Any Installation (After the Fifth Maintenance Release of SAS 9.4)" section of the SAS^® Deployment Wizard and SAS^® Deployment Manager 9.4: User’s Guide.
   
• If you used the SAS Hot Fix Analysis, Download and Deployment tool or manually applied hot fixes, use the SAS Hot Fix Analysis, Download and Deployment Tool (SASHFADD 2.2.1) as documented in the "Applying Hot Fixes after the Installation" section of the SAS^® Deployment Wizard and SAS^® Deployment Manager 9.4: User’s Guide.

Note: If you did not download your order or did not apply hot fixes between January 2, 2019 and January 30, 2019, the issues documented in this note do not pertain to you.
