Problem Note 62659: List controls unexpectedly do not have scroll bars in SAS® Visual Analytics Viewer and SAS® Visual Analytics on SAS® Viya®

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Overview

In both SAS Visual Analytics Viewer and SAS Visual Analytics on SAS Viya, scroll bars might be missing from list controls, including list controls that are inside prompt containers. The exact behavior depends on your release of SAS Visual Analytics.

  • In release 7.5 and in SAS Visual Analytics on SAS Viya, this problem is most likely to occur if your browser is zoomed to less than 100% when you log on to SAS Visual Analytics.
  • In release 7.4 and earlier, this problem is most likely to occur if you change the zoom level or reduce the size of the window after the report is opened.

This problem is most likely to occur in Google Chrome, but it can occur for other browsers depending on your release of SAS Visual Analytics.

Example

The following display shows a list control where the scroll bar appears correctly:

The following display shows how the same list control appears when the zoom level has been changed and the scroll bar is missing:

Typically, once the scroll bars are gone, you cannot restore them by changing the zoom level. In the previous example, you cannot restore the bars by changing the zoom level from 80% to 100%.

Workaround

Preventing the problem from occurring depends on your release:

  • In release 7.5 and in SAS Visual Analytics on SAS Viya, you must log off from SAS Visual Analytics and log back in when the browser is zoomed to 100%.
  • In release 7.4 and earlier, do not change the zoom level or reduce the size of the window after logging in.
