Problem Note 62500: "ERROR: Invalid sequence of commands..." occurs when you try to create a SAS® data set from an Oracle table

When you use SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Oracle to create a SAS data set from an Oracle table, you might receive an error similar to the following:

ERROR: Invalid sequence of commands for file libref.table.DATA.

You also might see that hidden columns have a length of zero (0) if you run a procedure such as PROC CONTENTS on the Oracle table.

You might encounter this issue when you run code similar to the following:

libname x oracle user=oracle_user password=oracle_password path=oracle_path;
   data test;
       set x.table;
   run;

This problem occurs when the Oracle database administrator has applied the security policy.
