Problem Note 62035: The cross-reference formula might be displayed as "#NAME?" in an uploaded spreadsheet and the "ERROR...ControllerExceptionHandler..." occurs
In SAS® Risk and Finance Workbench, the cross-reference formula might be displayed as #NAME? when you upload a spreadsheet that contains cross-references. When you encounter this issue, errors similar to the following occur:
ERROR com.sas.stress.rest.controller.ControllerExceptionHandler - Generic exception handling for request:
<http: path-name>/SASRiskandFinanceWorkbench/rest/projects/22/upload
org.apache.poi.ss.formula.FormulaParseException: Parse error near char 5 ''' in specified formula 'SUM(#'REF'!)'. Expected unquoted identifier
at org.apache.poi.ss.formula.FormulaParser.expected(FormulaParser.java:219)
at org.apache.poi.ss.formula.FormulaParser.parseUnquotedIdentifier(FormulaParser.java:1349)
This issue occurs because, in some cases, the spreadsheet does not handle the cross-sheet references as single-quote delineated, which is the expectation. In such cases, the formula is displayed as #NAME? because the user interface cannot evaluate the formula properly.
