Problem Note 62007: SAS® Enterprise Guide® might not pass the OBS= option down to Amazon Redshift database tables
When working with tables in Amazon Redshift libraries, SAS Enterprise Guide might ignore the OBS= option. (You set the option in Tools ► Options ► Data ► Performance by entering a value for the Maximum number of rows to display in the data grid with SAS/ACCESS data.)
Specifically, the OBS= option might be ignored when your Redshift library definition includes the REREAD_EXPOSURE=YES option. When REREAD_EXPOSURE is set to YES, SAS Enterprise Guide ignores the OBS= option and opens the entire Redshift table. When you close the data grid, SAS Enterprise Guide stops responding, especially if the table is large. After a period of time, the table eventually closes.
The OBS= option is correctly enforced when REREAD_EXPOSURE= is set to NO.
This issue occurs only when SAS Enterprise Guide connects to a SAS® server on UNIX. The problem does not occur when the SAS server is on Windows.
