Problem Note 62999: Printing a SAS® Visual Analytics report fails with "TransportWarning::INVALID_ARGUMENTS" or "TransportWarning::SERVICE_FAILURE"
When you attempt to print a SAS Visual Analytics report from SAS® Report Viewer, you might see the following error after clicking OK in the Print to PDF dialog box:
TransportWarning::INVALID_ARGUMENTS
Insufficient information to fulfill the request
When you attempt to print the report from SAS® Visual Analytics Viewer, you might see the following error:
TransportWarning::SERVICE_FAILURE An unexpected service error
was encountered while attempting to fulfill the request.
When you attempt to print the report from SAS® Visual Analytics Designer, you might see the following error:
The print failed to generate a PDF. Contact your SAS Visual Analytics administrator.
This problem can occur under the following conditions:
- The report includes a crosstab.
- A date data item is assigned to the Columns role.
- At least one column in the crosstab is sorted by measure.
For example, the following display shows a crosstab that is sorted by Revenue for the year 2000. Attempting to print this report would produce the error.
As a workaround, you can remove the sort before printing. In release 8.2, you can also use these workarounds:
- Instead of printing from SAS Report Viewer, you can print from SAS Visual Analytics.
- Replace the date data item used in the crosstab with a new calculated data item that is character. Here is an example of a new calculated data item based on the Year data item used in the previous display.
You can also upgrade to release 8.3 or later where this problem does not occur.
