The _createtime field is not indexed for a search in SAS Visual Investigator. This field is used to create the data for the search result option Date created (newest first).

Because the field is ignored, all external entities, no matter which creation date they have, appear at the end of the search results. 

The issue occurs only in a search result that contains a mixture of internal and external entities. It does not occur when you view a search result that contains only external entities.

To work around this problem, take these actions:

• Switch the search results view to the Table view.
• Filter the search to show only Alerts.
• In the Sort results drop-down menu, choose Date created (newest first).
