Problem Note 62879: An "At least one Input variable must be defined" error is displayed for nodes that should not require an Input variable
When you run a pipeline in SAS® Visual Data Mining and Machine Learning, the following error might be displayed:
At least one Input variable must be defined.
The message is displayed even for nodes that should not require an input variable. Examples:
- Text Mining
- SAS Code
- Open Source
- Replacement
- Filter
- Transformation
To work around the problem, follow these steps:
1. In the Data tab, assign variable roles, and set the role to Input for at least one variable.
2. Go to the Pipelines tab and build Data ► Manage Variables. Run this pipeline.
3. After the pipeline completes successfully, open the Manage Variables node.
4. Change the role of the assigned Input variable to the desired role. Save the changes.
5. Add any successive nodes after the Manage Variables node to complete the pipeline.
6. Run the entire pipeline.
