Problem Note 62875: "The version of SAS Management Console and the version of the SAS Metadata Server do not match" occurs when you log on to SAS® Management Console
When you log on to SAS Management Console, the following warning message is shown:
Warning: The version of SAS Management Console and the version of the SAS Metadata Server do not match. You are running an unsupported configuration.
You encounter this problem when the versions of SAS Management Console and SAS on the server do not match. Using different releases of SAS Management Console is not recommended and could cause unexpected behavior. This behavior includes, but is not limited to, a potential mismatch of templates used for creation and administration for a variety of tasks. Also, newer releases of SAS Management Console contain hot fixes that might not be available for older releases.
To work around this issue in Windows environments, do the following:
- To determine which depot you need to use, find the version of SAS that the order contains by looking in one of the following:
- the SOI.html file in C:\SAS Software Depot\install_doc\Order#####
- the install_doc/order#/ folder in the depot
- Uninstall the current version of SAS Management Console. Then, install the new version found in the depot for the latest version of SAS that you have installed. Navigate to SAS-installation-directory\SASDeploymentManager\9.4 and launch the sasdm.exe (Windows) file.
- Complete the following steps to install SAS Management Console on your Windows clients:
- Run the setup.exe file from your SAS Software Depot to launch the SAS® Deployment Wizard.
- Select your language.
- Select Install SAS Software.
- If prompted, select the order from which you would like to install SAS Management Console.
- If prompted, select the location where you would like SAS Management Console to be installed. By default, it is installed in the SASHome directory.
- Select Install Additional Software.
- Select the check box for SAS Management Console.
- Proceed through the remaining prompts.
