Problem Note 62740: SAS® Studio logon fails with "Search permission is denied for a directory or file is not an executable file" in SAS® Viya®

When a user who does not have proper permissions logs on to SAS Studio in SAS Viya, an error similar to the following error is displayed:
The launch of server mySASObjectServer for user xxxxx failed. Search permission is denied for a directory or file is not an executable file.
In the spawner log located in /opt/sas/viya/config/var/log/spawner/default, you see messages similar to the following:
New client connection (111111) accepted from server port 8591 for user xxxxx. Encryption level is Everything using encryption algorithm AES. Peer IP address and port are [::ffff:127.0.0.1]:47180 for APPNAME=ConnectionService 904500.
ERROR: Launch Failed. Cannot execute program "/opt/sas/viya/config/etc/workspaceserver/default/workspaceserver.sh", error = 13 (Permission denied).
ERROR: Search permission is denied for a directory or file is not an executable file
ERROR: The launch of server mySASObjectServer for user xxxxx failed.
In Environment Manager ► Logs, you see an error similar to the following:
ERROR: Launch Failed. Cannot execute program "/opt/sas/viya/config/etc/workspaceserver/default/workspaceserver.sh", error = 13 (Permission denied).
To circumvent this issue, make sure that the user has Read and Execute permissions to the following scripts:
- /opt/sas/viya/config/etc/workspaceserver/default/workspaceserver.sh
- /opt/sas/viya/config/etc/workspaceserver/default/workspaceserver_usermods.sh
