Usage Note 62415: SAS® Visual Analytics might fail to display sample reports because the sample data sources are not loaded to the SAS® LASR™ Analytic Server
By default, sample data is assigned to the Visual Analytics Public LASR library, which is configured to load the tables when the server is restarted (reload-on-start). If the tables are not loaded, you see an error that is similar to the following, depending on the application:
In SAS® Visual Analytics Designer, you see a message similar to the following, and the report objects are displayed with a red X:
An error was encountered loading the data source VA_SAMPLE_K12_STUDENT.
In SAS® Visual Analytics Viewer, you see a warning symbol and the name of the table for each object in the report, as shown in the following display.
If the tables are unloaded, then manually restart the Public LASR Analytic Server from the SAS® Visual Analytics Administrator. Do not use a script to start the server. Allow enough time for all of the tables to load.
You cannot load the tables interactively from SAS Visual Analytics Administrator. If you attempt to load the tables manually, you see the message Not processed (not reloadable).
For more information about the samples that are shipped with SAS Visual Analytics, see "Sample Objects" in the SAS Visual Analytics: Administration Guide.
