SAS Studio is unable to load when you use either Firefox release 73.0 and above or Google Chrome release 67 and above. After you enter your user name and password, the application stops responding and shows a continuous, spinning indicator on the Initializing display.
The problem in Firefox occurs with SAS® Studio 3.x releases (SAS Studio Enterprise [Mid-Tier] or Basic edition).
The problem in Chrome occurs with SAS Studio 3.x releases as well as SAS® Studio 4.x releases (SAS® Viya® 3.x).
To circumvent the problem, use a different web browser.
For SAS® Studio Enterprise (Mid-Tier) or Basic edition:
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
Note: If your About SAS Studio window shows the release as 3.6, you might have previously applied the hot fix referenced in SAS Note 57898, "Apply SAS® Studio 3.6 functionality to SAS® Studio 3.4 or 3.5." That hot fix provided you with the functionality of SAS® Studio 3.6, and it changed the About SAS Studio release displayed. However, it did not change your installed release version. You need to apply the hot fix that corresponds to your installed release version. Your installed release version is the 3.x number in one of the following directory paths:
SASHOME/SASStudioMidTier/3.x
or
SASHOME/SASStudioBasic/3.x
Use the hot fix that matches the specific 3.x number.
If the following error message is generated when you apply the SAS Studio 3.6 hot fix for this issue, please check your installed release version as indicated above:
Note: If you are running SAS Studio 3.4 or SAS Studio 3.5, the hot fix included in the Hot Fix tab above includes the fix contained in SAS Note 57898.
For SAS® Studio Single-User edition:
You can determine whether you are running SAS Studio Single-User from the edition displayed in the About SAS Studio page, or by the fact that you launch SAS Studio from a shortcut on the Windows Start menu.
To change the default browser when you use SAS Studio Single-User, please see the following:
You can download the updated version of SAS Studio Single-User from our Downloads page.
For SAS® Studio 4.3 (SAS® Viya®) in Linux operating environments only:
Update Your Software to Fix This Issue
