Problem Note 61565: Optimization might fail with a segmentation violation error when you specify Allow Pack from Prior Delivery for carry over packs
In SAS® Pack Optimization, the following exception might be generated in the MIMain_PKO_Long_STP_server.log:
ERROR: An exception has been encountered.
Please contact technical support and provide them with the following traceback information:
The SAS task name is [PACKOPT ]
Segmentation Violation
Traceback of the Exception: (... followed by Traceback information)
No error messages are displayed in the user interface other than Optimization failed.
This issue is likely to occur when the following are true:
- You select the Allow Pack from Prior Delivery option for carry over packs in Pack Settings.
- You do not select Inner Pack Handling Cost greater than zero in the Eligible Pack section in Pack Settings.
The workaround for this issue is to set an Inner Pack Handling Cost of 0.01 or greater via the Eligible Pack section of Pack Settings. Setting the inner pack handling cost value to 0.01 or higher populates the REQ_PACKREC_GEO_COST.INNER_HANDLE_COST column with the value of 0.01 instead of a null value.
