Problem Note 61539: Performance-monitoring tasks might produce incorrect deviations as a result of incorrectly sorting the response values
The performance-monitoring task in SAS® Model Manager might not sort the values of character variables consistently across time periods.
The problem can occur when you are running a performance-monitoring task on a character variable. If the problem occurs, then calculated deviations are incorrect.
There are no errors or warnings to indicate a problem.
Example: After running a performance-monitoring task for a Development period, these values and frequencies occurred: A 40%, B 30%, C 20%, D 10%. After Period2, these values and frequencies occurred: A 32%, B 16%, C 25%, D 27%. The task should display the Period2 results in the order of the Development percentages. However, the task displays Period2 results in the order of the Period2 percentages.
Expected Observed
Development Period2 Period2
A 40% A 32% A 32%
B 30% B 16% C 27%
D 20% D 25% D 25%
C 10% C 27% B 16%
For B, the expected deviation is 30% - 16%. However, the task calculates 30% - 27%.
